I sometimes watch my children interacting with each other and get lost in my consistent thoughts that evades all my senses like a panic. "I wish I had my camera to capture this moment."
I admit these words are not unlike most parent thoughts who think it's important to diarize their children as they grow. But as a photographer these thoughts never truly leave my mind. Like a dull headache, that is more profound when you get off the couch to quickly. "I wish I had my camera; I wish I had my camera; I wish I had my camera" repeats itself in my head similar to the stars I see that float across my vision after an intense sneeze.
The above image was when my son ran up to me in a excited state asking if he could play ping-pong. The resulting picture was because I had my camera. But if you look closely, his demeanour says "dad...can you please put away the camera and play me in ping pong?!?!" I think I must have got lost in my thoughts again. It's constant debate in my mind to either capture images or participate. It's a great way to see life...unless I'm without my camera.
Do any other photographers have those thoughts as well?
